All-on-4® in Fairfax, VA

All-on-4 implant-supported dentures are a predictable and less expensive way to restore one’s failing arch or mouth. Traditionally, Dr. Cho would need to place eight to ten implants to restore the smile and function of a patient with no teeth. Now, he can reduce this to four implants and restore all the teeth predictably. This reduces lots of pain, time, and money for our patients. The best part is, All-on-4 can be completed in just one day at our Fairfax dental office!

All-on-4 vs. Traditional Dentures

Comfort: Traditional dentures always move around, causing sores in the mouth. All-on-4 technology uses four implants to affix the denture tightly in the mouth.

Eating: The biting force of traditional dentures is generally reduced to about 20%, making chewing difficult. Implant-supported dentures retain full biting force.

Health: Bone loss will occur underneath a traditional denture, causing more looseness. Dentures supported by dental implants help retain the existing bone structure.

Cost: Relining old dentures or getting new dentures are necessary every few years. All-on-4 dentures never need to be relined and are much longer lasting. Plus, we offer a five-year warranty to ensure the quality and durability of your All-on-4 procedure.

The All-on-4 Procedure

Dr. Cho works in conjunction with an oral surgeon to ensure the best result. Your oral surgeon will place four implants to restore the entire arch (for example, all the teeth on the bottom)—two in the front area and two in the back. They serve as anchor and connection to the denture, providing much better function and stability. A denture designed by Dr. Cho will be integrated to those four implants.

After the procedure, you will need to take your prescribed medications for about a week. You will also need to return to Braddock Family Dental for a follow-up exam so Dr. Cho can check your bite and healing process. During the first few weeks, we recommend eating a soft-food diet to allow the implant sites to heal.

Is All-on-4 right for you?

Dr. Cho will evaluate the health of your mouth and discuss your medical history during your exam at our Fairfax dental office. Heavy smokers and severe diabetic patients are to be carefully evaluated for the treatment. The reason is that osseointegration (the fusion between implants and bone) may not take place as well due to slower healing.

All-on-4 is an investment in your long-term health and wellness. Dr. Cho and the Braddock Family Dental team are here to help you make the best choice for your smile, whether this includes implant-supported dentures or a different restorative option.
